These Eyes

These are the eyes I look at everyday and marvel over the fact that they belong to my daughter, M. Little did I know that all this time she had such poor eyesight. She failed the eye test twice at school a little over a month ago so I immediately set up an appointment for her at a local TSO office. Yesterday we went for our visit and I found out she has 20/200 vision in her right eye and 20/100 vision in her left eye! From what I've read on the internet anything over 20/200 is considered legally blind.

I don't know how she has managed to do so well for so long. She has never complained of blurry vision, headaches, or being able to see anything. She does wonderful in school and at sports. She had such a great year last season in softball that she was asked to be on one of the select/ASA teams. I still do not know how she was ever able to see the ball coming to her when she was batting or trying to catch the softball.

Her new glasses will be in mid week and she seems very excited about them. I'll be sure to update the blog once she has them. I have to admit, they do look precious on her!
